Softball Game Preview: Lafayette Rams vs. West Point Pointers

The Lafayette Rams will square off against the West Point Pointers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Lafayette has struggled recently with 33 defeats in a row, while West Point will arrive with three straight victories.

Lafayette had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but New Kent put an end to it on Friday. The Rams came up short against the Trojans, falling 20-0.

Meanwhile, West Point hadn't done well against Mathews recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Pointers walked away with a 12-7 win over the Blue Devils.

West Point's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Lafayette, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.

Lafayette might still be hurting after the 19-1 defeat they got from West Point in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
