Basketball Recap: Alyssa Fitzgerald and Jocelyn Gill Secure Win for Georgetown Visitation Prep

Georgetown Visitation Prep won the last time they faced James Madison and things went their way on Friday too. The Georgetown Visitation Prep Cubs came out on top against the James Madison Warhawks by a score of 53-44. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cubs.

Georgetown Visitation Prep was led to victory by Jocelyn Gill and Alyssa Fitzgerald. Gill posted 22 points and eight rebounds, while Fitzgerald put up 16 points and six steals. Fitzgerald has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Doerr, who had six points.

Georgetown Visitation Prep pushed their record up to 5-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for James Madison, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 5-4.

Georgetown Visitation Prep won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Connelly School of the Holy Child at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday. After both having extra time off, James Madison and Centreville will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 5:45 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
