Preview: Walnut Mustangs vs. San Bernardino Cardinals

The Walnut Mustangs will look to defend their home field on Friday against the San Bernardino Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Walnut had no problem doing just that on Friday. They strolled past Los Amigos with points to spare, taking the game 31-17.

Among those leading the charge was Demetrius Stampley, who rushed for 89 yards and two touchdowns. Stampley was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 67 yards. Brenden Neeley made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Meanwhile, San Bernardino didn't have too much trouble with Miller on the road on Friday as they won 44-27.

San Bernardino got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Henry Hernandez out in front who rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Xavier Alvarez, who rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries.

Walnut is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season. As for San Bernardino, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4.
