Football Game Preview: Claxton Tigers vs. Metter Tigers

Claxton hasn't had much luck against Metter recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Claxton will head out to square off against Metter at 7:30 p.m. Neither Claxton nor Metter posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.

On Friday, Claxton took a blow against Bryan County, falling 42-7.

Meanwhile, Metter played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 34-6 loss at the hands of Emanuel County Institute. The matchup marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Metter didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jaden Williams and Kasi Johnson.

Claxton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Metter, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2.

Claxton was taken down by Metter 42-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can Claxton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
