On Thursday, Maggie Walker beat the Cristo Rey Royals 45-34. The win made it back-to-back victories for Maggie Walker.

Despite the loss, Cristo Rey saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jemell Smith posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikey Turner, who earned five points.

Maggie Walker's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Cristo Rey, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Maggie Walker wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 76-55 loss against Mechanicsville on the 6th. As for Cristo Rey, they will welcome St. Christopher's at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
