Soccer Game Preview: Clarksville vs. Kirkwood

Clarksville is a perfect 3-0 against Kirkwood since March of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cobras at 6:00 p.m.

Clarksville is headed into Tuesday's game hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Cane Ridge. The matchup was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Clarksville couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, Dickson County kept up with Kirkwood until halftime on Thursday, but afterwards: not so much. The Cobras' defense stepped up to hand the Cougars a 3-0 shutout. Kirkwood might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by three goals or more this season.

Kirkwood was without their leading scorer, Grayson Sims, in Thursday's game. With Sims sitting this one out, Nolan Teeple got some extra time on the pitch (80 vs. his season average of 47.3).

The victory got Kirkwood back to even at 8-8. As for Clarksville, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3-1.

Clarksville was able to grind out a solid win over Kirkwood in their previous meeting back in March, winning 2-0. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cobras turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
