Basketball Game Preview: Garrett Railroaders vs. Prairie Heights Panthers

Garrett is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Saturday. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Prairie Heights Panthers at 8:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

After dropping their season opener at home, Prairie Heights is headed out to face a Railroaders squad ready to give their home crowd a win. Garrett lost 70-44 to Heritage on Wednesday. The Railroaders were down 48-28 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the loss, Garrett got top-tier performance from Ayden O'Neal, who shot 80% from the field to rack up 22 points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ari Hippensteel, who posted seven points.

Meanwhile, Prairie Heights had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 63-52 to Jimtown on Tuesday.

Everything went Garrett's way against Prairie Heights in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as Garrett made off with a 52-28 victory. Will the Railroaders repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
