Baseball Recap: Foresthill Wildfires vs. Delta Saints
If Foresthill was feeling good fresh off their 10-4 takedown of Leroy Greene Academy last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Foresthill Wildfires fell just short of the Delta Saints by a score of 12-11 on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (ten), the Wildfires still had to take the loss.

David Silveira was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. He has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
In other batting news, Hunter Byrum made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stole at least one in each of the last eight games he's played dating back to last season.
Foresthill now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Delta, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.
Looking ahead, Foresthill will face off against Union Mine at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Delta, they will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Golden Sierra at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
