Baseball Recap: Archer City Wildcats vs. Seymour Panthers

Suggested Video

Archer City extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 7-10 in the process. They lost 8-2 to the Seymour Panthers. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 9-3.

As for Seymour, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-7. Considering they have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

For Seymour's part, Brayden Loyd was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out 12 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). Loyd has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, Slade Tucker was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Carrington, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

As of now, neither Archer City nor Seymour have any future games scheduled.
