Oak Park and Calabasas are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2016, but likely not for long. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Coyotes at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Oak Park came up short against Moorpark on Thursday, falling 17-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Musketeers: they've now lost eight in a row.

Julia Katz led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Isabella Jauregui was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Calabasas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They fell 8-5 to Poly.

Bryce Somoza was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Beautifull Palmer and Lilly Kingston stepped up to the plate in a big way. Palmer scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Kingston scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicole Velazco, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Calabasas' defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Oak Park, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Oak Park took their win against Calabasas when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 7-1 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Coyotes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
