Volleyball Recap: Terre Haute North Vigo Comes Up Short

If Terre Haute North Vigo was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Terre Haute South Vigo on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Patriots lost 3-0 to the Mooresville Pioneers on Wednesday. The Patriots were not able to make up for their defeat to the Pioneers from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

While Terre Haute North Vigo had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-23, 25-18.

Reid Monken paced Terre Haute North Vigo's offense, picking up six kills. Monken got some help from Pierce Lee and his 12 assists. Lee was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Terre Haute North Vigo has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. As for Mooresville, they pushed their record up to 11-13 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

After both having extra time off, Terre Haute North Vigo and Terre Haute South Vigo will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on the 15th. The Patriots are facing the Braves at the right time seeing as the Braves are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Mooresville, they will take on Monrovia at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Pioneers surely won't give up without a fight.
