Mescalero Apache was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Mescalero Apache lost, one person who can't be blamed is Skyla Enjady. Despite the final result, she scored six points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.
Mescalero Apache has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Capitan, their victory bumped their record up to 7-13.
Mescalero Apache will be playing at home against the Mavericks at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in New Mexico (Lordsburg is ranked 92nd, while the Chiefs are ranked 93rd). As for Capitan, they will head out on the road to square off against the Wildcats at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Tularosa will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
