Football Recap: Kelloggsville Wins Going Away Against Perry

The Kelloggsville Rockets got the win against the Perry Ramblers on Friday by a conclusive 48-28. The Rockets pushed the score to 34-10 by the end of the third, a deficit the Ramblers cut but never quite recovered from.

Perry's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alex Rockafellow, who picked up 167 receiving yards and two TDs. Rockafellow really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 86 yards. Another receiver making a difference was Jacob Adkins, who picked up 137 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Kelloggsville has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 45.5 points this season. As for Perry, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Kelloggsville and Perry will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Rockets will square off against rival Fruitport at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Perry is set to take on their familiar foe Laingsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
