Softball Recap: North Raleigh Christian Academy Comes Up Short

If North Raleigh Christian Academy was feeling good fresh off their 18-8 takedown of Cary Academy two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Knights came up short against the GRACE Christian Eagles on Tuesday, falling 15-4.

North Raleigh Christian Academy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ainsley Thomas, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

North Raleigh Christian Academy has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for GRACE Christian, their victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Raleigh Christian Academy will welcome Grace Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Crusaders have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season. As for GRACE Christian, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Cary Academy at 4:00 p.m. The Chargers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.38 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
