Softball Recap: Hampton Comes Up Short

Hampton fell victim to Smackover and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Buckaroos. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 14-7 to the Buckaroos when the teams met back in March of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Hampton's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Smackover, they pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.

Coming up, Hampton will square off against Junction City at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Smackover, they will venture away from home to take on Fouke at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.81 runs per game on average), something the Buckaroos will no doubt try to take advantage of.
