Football Game Preview: Southmoreland Scotties vs. Greensburg Salem Golden Lions + How To Watch

The Southmoreland Scotties will square off against the Greensburg Salem Golden Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Southmoreland's defense has only allowed 10.1 points per game this season, so Greensburg Salem's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Southmoreland's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Elizabeth Forward on Friday. They had to suffer through a 42-0 loss at the hands of the Warriors. The defeat continues a trend for the Scotties in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost eight in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Greensburg Salem). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Yough 41-7. The victory was some much needed relief for the Golden Lions as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Southmoreland better focus on containing Brody Chismar and Maxim Topper as the pair were huge in Greensburg Salem's win. Chismar threw for 221 yards and three TDs, while Topper picked up 140 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. What's more, Chismar racked up 96 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in August.

Greensburg Salem didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Noah Dudek, Akheim McCreary, and Daeshawn Miller picked up one apiece.

Having lost for the first time this season, Southmoreland fell to 8-1. As for Greensburg Salem, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-6.
