There's no place like home for Las Cruces, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat the Gadsden Panthers 54-10. The Bulldawgs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 24 points or more this season.
Las Cruces had a senior duo take command as Danae Pacheco went 5 for 10 en route to 17 points and Bethzy Quinones went 5 of 9 on her way to 10 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Quinones has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Sofia Herrera was another key player, putting up five points and six boards.
Las Cruces has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.8 points over those games. As for Gadsden, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-13.
Looking ahead, Las Cruces will square off against Organ Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gadsden, they will face off against Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
