Softball Recap: Silverado Has No Trouble Against Hesperia

Silverado barely beat Hesperia the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Silverado put the hurt on Hesperia with a sharp 15-2 victory on Saturday. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by ten runs or more this season.

Alexis Rodriguez made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Rodriguez was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with four RBI and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Valerie Beltran was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Alex Valdez, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Silverado hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in nine consecutive matches.

Silverado's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Hesperia, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7-1.

Silverado will have a chance to go back-to-back against Hesperia: the pair will be back at it again later today.
