Softball Recap: Wesleyan Christian Academy Falls Short of Charlotte Latin in the Playoffs

Wesleyan Christian Academy and Charlotte Latin squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Wesleyan Christian Academy had to settle for second. They lost 13-3 to the Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 back in March.

Alexis Emery was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played.

Wesleyan Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Charlotte Latin, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

Wesleyan Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Charlotte Latin, they will head out to challenge Cannon at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
