Basketball Recap: Paradise Valley Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

Paradise Valley entered their tilt with Cactus on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They snuck past the Cactus Cobras with a 54-48 victory. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Cobras are ranked 238th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Cactus lost, don't look at Xavier Ledet. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 11 on his way to 14 points. Aden Thiesse was another key player, putting up five points and five rebounds.

Paradise Valley's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Cactus, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

Paradise Valley will head out to take on Kellis at 7:00 p.m. on January 15th. As for Cactus, they will welcome Agua Fria at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
