Baseball Game Preview: Perry Pirates vs. West Geauga Wolverines

The Perry Pirates are taking a road trip to face off against the West Geauga Wolverines at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Perry's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so West Geauga's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Perry came out on top against Edgewood on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fifth inning. The Pirates never let the Warriors get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for West Geauga, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over Wickliffe on Wednesday.

Perry has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for West Geauga, their victory bumped their record up to 14-5.

Perry was able to grind out a solid win over West Geauga when the teams last played on Monday, winning 8-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
