Basketball Game Preview: Midland Legacy Rebels vs. Frenship Tigers

Midland Legacy is on a ten-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Frenship is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Midland Legacy Rebels will host the Frenship Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Midland Legacy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.6 points per game this season.

Midland Legacy is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Permian just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 64-38 to the Panthers. The contest marked the Rebels' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Diego Rodriguez put forth a good effort for the losing side as he almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten boards. That's the most rebounds he has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tristine Turner, who posted two points in addition to 13 boards and three blocks.

Even though they lost, Midland Legacy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Frenship blew past Midland, posting a 72-18 win. That 54 point margin sets a new team best for the Tigers this season.

Frenship's victory bumped their record up to 17-7. As for Midland Legacy, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-8.
