Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Wilson

Wilson came tearing into Wednesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Albion Purple Eagles with a sharp 10-2 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 25-3 back in April.

Katie Hardy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Abbie Faery, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Ernest, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Wilson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They are 6-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Wilson's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Albion, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

As of now, neither Wilson nor the Purple Eagles have any future games scheduled.
