Basketball Recap: Houston County Comes Up Short

Houston County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 29th straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Veterans Warhawks and fell 63-19. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warhawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-40 two weeks ago.

Houston County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Veterans, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-14.

Houston County and Veterans could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. The Bears will take on Lee County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (490 vs. 64). Meanwhile, Veterans (ranked 274th) will meet Coffee (ranked 32nd) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
