Volleyball Recap: Southwest Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Galena, Southwest was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the McAuley Catholic Warriors. This was payback for the Trojans, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-8, 25-15.

Marissa Freeman paced Southwest's offense, picking up 18 kills. Freeman got some help from Abi Hnem and her 15 assists. Emily Brooks controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Southwest pushed their record up to 12-18-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for McAuley Catholic, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season.

Southwest has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Sarcoxie on the 21st. McAuley Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
