Basketball Game Preview: Heartland Lutheran Red Hornets vs. Red Cloud Warriors

Heartland Lutheran hasn't had much luck against Red Cloud recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Heartland Lutheran Red Hornets will be playing at home against the Red Cloud Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Heartland Lutheran is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 61 points on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Archangels Catholic on Friday. They were dealt a 49-20 defeat at the hands of the Defenders.

Meanwhile, Red Cloud lost to Superior at home by a 54-37 margin on Friday. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Despite the loss, Red Cloud saw an underclassman step up: freshman Josie Faimon posted 16 points. Josie Rust was another key player, putting up nine points.

Heartland Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Red Cloud, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7.

Heartland Lutheran ended up a good deal behind Red Cloud in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, losing 53-35. Can Heartland Lutheran avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
