Baseball Game Preview: Mooreville Troopers vs. Seminary Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Mooreville will face off against Seminary. The Troopers will square off against the Bulldogs at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Mooreville 3.2, Seminary 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Mooreville heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Tuesday. They fell just short of Seminary by a score of 2-1. The Troopers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Seminary's part, Dan Sinclair was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Sinclair has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run.

Sinclair wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Stanley Peters, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Seminary hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive games.

Seminary has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 32-8-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Mooreville, their loss dropped their record down to 29-10.
