Softball Game Preview: Heritage Timberwolves vs. Battle Ground Tigers

Heritage is 1-9 against Battle Ground since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Timberwolves will take on the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Heritage has given up an average of 7.2 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

The home team had come away the winner the last six times Heritage and Camas had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Timberwolves lost 13-4 to the Papermakers on Wednesday. Timberwolves fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Papermakers since on Wednesday.

Kylie Thomas was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Gracie Peterson, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Battle Ground was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 9-6 to Kelso.

Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Battle Ground, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8-1.

Heritage skirted past Battle Ground 5-4 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Timberwolves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
