Francis Parker and Escondido Charter are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2017, but likely not for long. The Lancers will be playing at home against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lilly Harper was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Zaliyah Jones was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. Rose Gomez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.
Escondido Charter was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bishop's only posted a batting average of .281.
Escondido Charter's victory bumped their record up to 17-4. As for Francis Parker, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.
