Softball Recap: High Point Central Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Eastern Guilford, High Point Central was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They never let the Trinity Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bison also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2025.

The team relied heavily on Sha'Kaila Sturdivant-Ruff, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Neyshell Gomez-Holguin was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

High Point Central now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Trinity, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

High Point Central didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 16-0 loss against Montgomery Central on the 10th. As for Trinity, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on East Davidson at 6:00 p.m. on the 17th. The game will give the Bulldogs their first taste of in-conference action this season.
