Basketball Game Preview: Nottoway Cougars vs. Amelia County Raiders

The Nottoway Cougars will square off against the Amelia County Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Nottoway's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Amelia County has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.

Last Tuesday, Nottoway narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Randolph-Henry 49-46. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Statesmen: they've now won three in a row.

Amelia County played in conference for the first time on Friday and they got just the result they we're looking for. They had just enough and edged Randolph-Henry out 55-53. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Raiders have posted since December 9, 2024.

Nottoway's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Amelia County, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-14.
