            Football Recap: Coosa Eagles vs. Gordon Lee Trojans        
        
		
        
        
            
Coosa played a tough  contest  on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Gordon Lee Trojans 45-7. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 427th, while the Trojans are ranked 193rd).
 Charlie Cannon threw for 91 yards and one  touchdown.   Jaurice Warren was his top target, picking up 28 receiving yards.  On the ground,  Xander Sledge rushed for 57 yards.
 A big part of Gordon Lee's  win came down to the chemistry between  Dustin Day and his top target  Landon Norton. Day threw for 140 yards and a pair of  TDs on only six passes while  Norton picked up 84 receiving yards and two  scores. Those  84  receiving yards gave  Norton a new career-high.
This is the second loss in a row for Coosa and  nudges their season record down to 2-7. As for Gordon Lee, their victory was  their fourth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 8-1.
 We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Coosa is set to  square off against  their familiar foe Chattooga  at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. Meanwhile, Gordon Lee will  face off against  rival Fannin County  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
