Soccer Recap: Academy of the Holy Names Comes Up Short

Academy of the Holy Names was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 7-0 to the Voorheesville Blackbirds. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Voorheesville this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-0 on Monday.

Academy of the Holy Names' loss dropped their record down to 1-8-1. As for Voorheesville, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Academy of the Holy Names will square off against rival Cohoes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Voorheesville is set to take on their familiar foe Troy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
