Softball Recap: Seven Straight Home Wins for Kennedy

Kennedy's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the St. Paul Central Minutemen an 11-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won six games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Noelia Fierro made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, one triple, and one double. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Allie Sheehan was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Emma Skibbie was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three runs.

Kennedy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Paul Central only posted an OBP of .222.

Kennedy pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for St. Paul Central, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kennedy will welcome Visitation at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Paul Central, they will face off against Minneapolis Southwest at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
