Basketball Recap: Cedar Takes a Loss

Cedar was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 61-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Virgin Valley Bulldogs. The Reds were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2017.

When it comes to explaining why Cedar lost, don't look at Ty Rowley. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 24 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 47.1% of the Reds' points, marking the fifth time in a row Rowley has posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Englebright, who earned eight points and six boards.

Cedar now has a losing record of 2-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Cedar will take on North Sanpete at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Virgin Valley, they will face off against Elko at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
