            Baseball Recap: Chatham Central Bears vs. East Columbus Gators        
        
		
        
        
            Chatham Central fell victim to East Columbus and their airtight pitching crew  on Thursday. They took  a  3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gators. Having soared to a lofty 16  runs in the game before, the Bears' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
 Chatham Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Brett Phillips, who  went 1-for-2 with one  stolen base.
Chatham Central has also been struggling recently as they've  lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record  this season. As for East Columbus, their win  ended  a  four-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 8-6.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chatham Central will host Northwood  at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for East Columbus, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Heide Trask  at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. The Titans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.6  runs per game on average), something the Gators will no doubt try to take advantage of.
