Football Recap: South Lenoir Comes Up Short + How To Watch

South Lenoir had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 3-4 to make it four. They took a blow against the Clinton Dark Horses, falling 42-14. The Blue Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-6.

Although South Lenoir took the loss, they still got scores from Kendarius Bey and Christian Wooten.

As for Clinton, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4. That 28 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

Gavin Miller was his usual excellent self, rushing for 76 yards and three TDs on only nine carries. Clinton is 2-1 when Miller posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Miles McCallop, who threw for 152 yards and one touchdown.

South Lenoir and Clinton could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Blue Devils will take on Pender at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (379 vs. 184). Meanwhile, Clinton (ranked 236th) will meet East Duplin (ranked 108th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
