North Miami had won two straight games and Jadore Hayes did her part to make it three on Monday. The Pioneers came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 71-66 W against the Mater Academy Charter Lions thanks in part to Hayes, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 20 rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games she's played.

North Miami's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Mater Academy Charter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-4.

Coming up, North Miami is taking a road trip to square off against North Miami Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Chargers' defense has only allowed 28.4 points per game this season, so the Pioneers' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Mater Academy Charter, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Palm Beach Gardens on January 2, 2026.
