Basketball Game Preview: Springfield Spartans vs. Woodridge Bulldogs

Springfield is 1-9 against Woodridge since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Springfield Spartans will head out to take on the Woodridge Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Springfield had to suffer through a 53-18 loss at the hands of Norton. The matchup marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Woodridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 38-30 to Cloverleaf. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 529th, while the Colts are ranked 246th).

Woodridge's defeat dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Springfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-12.

Springfield was able to grind out a solid win over Woodridge when the teams last played back in January, winning 47-40. Will Springfield repeat their success, or does Woodridge have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
