Baseball Game Preview: Navasota Rattlers vs. Anderson-Shiro Fighting Owls

The Navasota Rattlers will take on the Anderson-Shiro Fighting Owls in a tournament on Friday.

Navasota's tournament run continued when they took on Bridge City on Thursday. Navasota fell just short of Bridge City by a score of 4-3. The Rattlers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Navasota saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was JD Saldana, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Jaxson Bowman also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Anderson-Shiro posted their closest victory since March 28, 2024 on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over Iola. The Fighting Owls haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Navasota's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Anderson-Shiro, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Navasota was able to grind out a solid victory over Anderson-Shiro in their previous meeting on Friday, winning 8-4. Will Navasota repeat their success, or does Anderson-Shiro have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
