Volleyball Recap: Liberty Center Starts Season with Victory Against Stryker

Liberty Center had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Stryker Panthers by a score of 3-1 on Saturday. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Liberty Center had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-19, 25-14, 25-19.

Liberty Center was led to victory by Chloe Mohler and Brooklyn Mohler. Chloe had 24 digs and two aces, while Brooklyn had ten digs and four aces. That's the most digs Chloe has posted since back in August of 2024. Avery Maynhart was another key player, getting 12 digs.

They weren't the only good server: Liberty Center was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in seven consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Liberty Center will look to takes advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they takes on Otsego at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Stryker, they will challenge Swanton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
