Last Wednesday, El Capitan/Centennial Academy took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 58-23 win over Beaver Dam.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Grand Canyon, who are still winless after their seventh game. They were dealt a 78-30 defeat at the hands of Basis on Tuesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Grand Canyon in their matchups with Basis: they've now lost five in a row.
El Capitan/Centennial Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Grand Canyon, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-7.
El Capitan/Centennial Academy took their win against Grand Canyon in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 64-41. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Grand Canyon's Roman Evans, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds.
