Soccer Game Preview: Grand Junction Central vs. Montrose

The Grand Junction Central Warriors are taking a road trip to challenge the Montrose Red Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Grand Junction Central's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for eight straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Grand Junction Central's offense. They came up short against Glenwood Springs on Tuesday, falling 5-0.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last matchup, Montrose made sure to put some goals up on the board against Grand Junction on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Tigers 4-3. The victory continues a trend for Montrose in their matchups with Grand Junction: they've now won eight in a row.

Grand Junction Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Montrose, the win got them back to even at 5-5-2.

Grand Junction Central might still be hurting after the 5-0 loss they got from Montrose when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
