Grace Christian hadn't done well against Foundation Christian Academy recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Patriots came out on top in a nail-biter against the Panthers, sneaking past 7-6. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Patriots as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Kyler Rickenbach made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Rickenbach wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ian Johns, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Grace Christian's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Foundation Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-4-1 record this season.

Grace Christian will challenge Hernando Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.5 runs per game on average), something the Patriots will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Foundation Christian Academy, they will take on Sports Leadership & Management at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
