Baseball Recap: Mayfield Takes a Loss

Mayfield managed to slip by Livingston Central the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Mayfield lost 19-10 to Livingston Central on Friday. Mayfield was not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Livingston Central earlier this season, when they won 6-4.

Jett Hawkins made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Price, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Mayfield has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Livingston Central, the win snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 4-8 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mayfield will head out to challenge Fulton City at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Livingston Central, they will challenge Lyon County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
