Baseball Game Preview: Seneca Bobcats vs. Travelers Rest Devildogs

The Seneca Bobcats are taking a road trip to face off against the Travelers Rest Devildogs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Seneca is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10 runs per game this season.

Seneca's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 17-0 margin over West-Oak. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bobcats.

Luke McGuffin looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on William Cutshall, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Joey McGovern, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Travelers Rest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Easley.

Travelers Rest's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Seneca, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Seneca beat Travelers Rest 3-0 in their previous matchup back in February of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Seneca since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
