Football Recap: Chester Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Chester extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Trayton Peters. The Yellowjackets came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 38-37 W against the Dupo Tigers with plenty of help from Peters, who threw for 188 yards and three TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also rushed for 37 yards and one score. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played.

Another player making a difference was Tashawn Palacio, who picked up 153 receiving yards and one touchdown. He showed off some serious burst, connecting on a big catch for 50 yards.

Chester didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Peters and Player #2.

When it comes to explaining why Dupo lost on Friday, don't look at Deegan Prater. Despite the final result, he threw for 316 yards and three TDs, and also punched in one score on the ground. The Tigers' leading receiver Thinh Staggs was Prater's top target yet again, picking up 92 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Chester's record is now 6-1. As for Dupo, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 6-1.

Looking ahead, Chester will challenge Red Bud at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Yellowjackets will be up against the Musketeers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 39.43 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Dupo, they will host Sparta/Steeleville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
