Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Joelle Mathews and Joanna Mathews Lead Carroll Christian to Victory

Carroll Christian waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 47-30 victory over Harford Christian. That's the fourth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 37-29 victory on February 6th.

Carroll Christian was led to victory by Joanna Mathews and Joelle Mathews. Joanna went 13-for-26 en route to 30 points and six steals, while Joelle dropped a double-double with 12 points and 19 rebounds. Joanna's afternoon made it nine games in a row in which she has scored at least 18 points. Hannah Kelley also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Carroll Christian's win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Harford Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-8.

Coming up, Carroll Christian will take on King's Christian Academy in a tournament on Tuesday. As for Harford Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against New Life Christian. The timing is sure in Harford Christian's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while New Life Christian has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
