Verrado had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Desert Edge Scorpions by a score of 17-7 on Wednesday. The win was nothing new for the Vipers as they're now sitting on nine straight.

The critical scores for Verrado came from Nevaeh Romero and Allison Rospierski.

Verrado didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Niah Arias led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself.

Verrado's victory bumped their record up to 11-2-1. As for Desert Edge, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

Looking ahead, Verrado will head out to take on Arizona College Prep at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Vipers 7.4, the Knights 13) so any points scored will be well earned. Desert Edge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
