King's Academy was not the first on the board on Thursday, but they got there more often. They took down the San Mateo Bearcats 28-14. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Bearcats: they've now won three in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead King's Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ricky Gutierrez, who threw for 237 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76% of his passes, and also punched in one rushing score. Gutierrez has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last four times he's played. Jaiden Flores was Gutierrez's top target, picking up 115 receiving yards and one TD.

King's Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for San Mateo, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

King's Academy has already played their next game, a 54-16 win against Mountain View on the 24th. As for San Mateo, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 35-21 victory against Carlmont on the 24th.
